Oh. Em. Gee. You guys. I swear this has to be the most beautiful skin care product I’ve seen in a very long time!

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, what is it? It’s the Jasmine & Rose Nourishing Oil from Amaki. But first off, a little bit of background about the company, since they’re new to me. (I LOVE “discovering” new-to-me brands, don’t you?)

Amaki, founded by a certified esthetician, is a family-owned and operated company. They are committed to quality, value and customer care, while using only the purest ingredients in nature. Every product is made conscientiously, with health and environment in mind. The products are environmentally friendly and made from the highest quality certified organic ingredients sourced exclusively from the USA (Amaki Skincare, 2017).

Onto the oil! The oil was packaged in a brown cardboard box, sealed with a label that listed the ingredients. This was like the facial oil version of craft beer- you could tell it was handmade and contained something very special. Inside, it was protected by tissue paper, and there’s a stamp that says “Handmade With Love.”

The oil itself is housed in a clear dropper bottle that shows off the golden color, along with the real rosebuds inside. The presentation is absolutely beautiful, and makes me feel spoiled and pampered. Ingredients are evening primrose oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, rosehip oil, jasmine essential oil, bergamot essential oil, rose geranium essential oil, and rose buds.

I will say that I usually prefer pump bottles rather than dropper bottles. Not only do dropper bottles allow for repeated air exposure, but I’m a clutz- I’ve spilled quite a few! That being said, I just don’t think the presentation would be the same in a different style of bottle. The dropper bottle gives off an apothecary-like vibe, and suits the handmade nature of the product perfectly. I’ll just make sure to close it back up quickly each time I use it.

Amaki Jasmine & Rose Nourishing Oil is suitable for all skin types. It purportedly helps soothe skin irritations and leaves skin soft, smooth, supple, and radiant. It also rejuvenates the skin, restores moisture and firmness, and gives a healthy and bright glow. The scent is fabulous- it’s sweet, and light. Even if you’re sensitive to fragrances, it shouldn’t be a problem because it’s all natural and not heavy.

I have oily/combination skin, and this does not make me feel greasy at all; it’s very light, and absorbs easily. For day time wear under makeup, I prefer camellia/tsubaki oils, but this Jasmine & Rose oil is perfect for night time wear. It’s very moisturizing, but light enough that I can wear my night cream over it.

I should also note the soothing properties- my skin was irritated after a microdermabrasion session, so I pressed a bit of this into my skin. Within minutes, the majority of the irritation had subsided- I’m sold! I also used the oil on my damp skin as soon as I got out of the shower- my legs felt smooth and moisturized for hours. While I was at it, I applied some to the ends of my hair while wet, then combed through. I let it dry naturally, and was left soft, shiny waves.

One of the best things about trying out brands that are new to me is that sometimes I run into some great stuff- and Amaki is no exception. I’m impressed with the high quality ingredients, and definitely want to try some of the brand’s other products, especially the Rose Water Hydrating Mist Toner and the Japanese Tsubaki Anti-Aging Face Oil, as I know they’ll be fab.

Overall, I’m very, very pleased with the Amaki Jasmine & Rose Nourishing Oil. It’s versatile, quick absorbing, pleasant smelling, and delivers results. To top it off, you get a LOT of product for the price- you get FOUR ounces, as opposed to half an ounce of comparable products. It’s a great value because not only do you get a lot, but it retails for just $35, but is currently on sale for $25. So, head on over to amakiskincare.com and check it out!
